Shree Sharaneshor Mahadevastakam

Bhagawan Shankar is serene, true, beyond the material knowledge, incomparable, only the subject to be known, and one who absorbs the poison of the world. He is the Lord of Kailash and figure of bliss. Lord of Pasu (creatures), who carries away the sin and remains innocent, who is to be served by the supreme Yogis, who is pious, the pivot of meditation and refuge of saints, on the figure of peace, Beloved Shiva, Shankar, Sharaneshor, Mahadev I bow to you.

The one who always immerses in the tears of love in the meditation of Lord Shreekrishna, the supreme Vaishnava, Shree Shankar is devotionally beautified by the soil trodden by Lotus feet of Shree Krishna though he himself is the owner of the whole universe. He who eternally showers in the cooling nectar of Krishna Naam (name), I bow to such Shree Shareneshor Shankar who has conquered death (Mrityunjaya).

He who entered the Vrindavan Dham as the perfect dancer queen among Gopinis in order to drink the divine nectar of MahaRasha, and accordingly enjoyed the nectar of loving devotion (Prema Bhakti) from Shree Krishna, I bow to Mrityunjaya Bhagawan Shree Sharaneshor Shankar, who has three eyes.

O Shambu, you are eternal and infinite. Moon is decorated on your head. You reside in the Himgiri (mountain) Kailash. You are like a bee that continuously enjoys the nectar of Lotus feet of RadhaMadhav. You whole being is always absorbed in Love and meditation of Shree Krishna. You are the supreme element among all. You are Gangadhar because Ganga flows your head. You are the lord of Nandi. O Shiva ! Sharaneshor! Pashupati! Please shower the bliss upon a poor like me.

O Shambu, tiger skin is your wear, and snake your wreath. Ox (Nandi) is your wealth. Rudra is your form. You live in the place of cremation. Spirits are you servant, you were the garland of human skull. Your manifestation is terrifying and you are the death of death. But you are still the Mangalmaya god who bestows everything upon the devotees who pray to you. O Sharaneshor, Pashupati, please shower the bliss upon a poor like me.

Sati, daughter of Dakshya, reincarnated as the daughter of Himalaya, Gauri, because she contemplated on nothing except your feet. She is called Aparna when she respectfully abandoned all the subjects and started meditating, and finally became your better half. Shree Ganesh, beloved of Bhagawan Mukunda and one who takes away the obstacles, is your son and the second son is Swami Kartikeya. You who have such a family, O Sharaneshor, Pashupati, please shower the bliss upon a poor like me.

You stay in the place where there are devotees telling the story of Shree Hari. Your favorite residence is the place where the Paad Padma of Bhagawan Madhava is worshipped. Though you wear Rudrakshya and are decorated by Vilva leaves, you love the Vrindavan Dham and the Tulashi on whom Shree Krishna have put feet. O Sharaneshor, Pashupati, please shower the bliss upon a poor like me.

O lord, who blesses all the devotees and fulfills every purpose and wills, you are residing here in praying form. Your beloved is the Lord Shree Gopal. Please remain in here close to Shree Golok Bihari. O Shambu, Sharaneshor, please bestow blessing upon me everyday.

He, who reads this Shree Sharaneshor Stotra in early morning, will have deep devotion on the lotus feet of Lord HariShankar.
